Role Profile
An analyst level corporate communications professional to join Morgan Stanley’s EMEA media relations team, based in London. The successful candidate will report to the head of EMEA Media Relations and work closely with other members of the corporate communications team.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with the organization of press interviews, relationship lunches/meetings, roundtable briefing sessions, press seminars and other media events in the UK
Distribution of daily press clippings
Maintenance of surveys and forward features database
Coordinate updates and activity reports for senior management
Liaise with the firm’s PR consultants across EMEA when organizing media events in their markets
Compile and maintain media lists for press release and research distribution; press invitations, etc.
Organise media training
Assisting in the coordination and collection of submissions from the various business units for annual awards such as IFR, Euromoney, Risk etc.
Working with investment banking teams (from capital markets and mergers & acquisitions) to position key bankers with media and to promote deal and thought leadership
Skills Required
Previous media relations experience
Strong communications skills, both oral and written
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload, set priorities and multi-task
Ability to work in a methodical and disciplined manner, paying close attention to detail and accuracy
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and also the pressure of adversarial media situations in a consistently professional manner
An interest in the financial services industry, preferably with experience in investment banking/capital markets
European languages, particularly French, Italian or Spanish, very helpful
Experience of social media, video and digital content production in corporate environment helpful
Degree educated or equivalent
